Statement: Every day in court is an opportunity to apply my
experience and the law while treating all parties with fairness and
dignity. I have spent my entire legal career in Skagit County, serving
as a judge with unique balance and perspective thanks to extensive trial
experience as a public defender and a prosecutor.
I understand that each decision I make impacts real people’s lives. I
have researched and ruled upon hundreds of motions and presided over
more than 50 trials involving family law, civil lawsuits, and criminal
law. Between my experience as an attorney and a judge, I hope you find
me best qualified to continue in this position.
My commitment to this community’s values extends beyond the courtroom. I
serve several community organizations and regularly teach local students
civics. My husband and I live in Mount Vernon, where we raise our son in
a bilingual home. I am also fluent in Spanish.
