Washington Supreme Court

Supreme Court justices are elected to six-year terms by voters throughout the entire state. There are nine Supreme Court justices, and Washington residents will vote for four in 2014.

Supreme Court candidates only appear on the primary election if there are more than two candidates for a position. There will not be any Supreme Court elections on the primary ballot in 2014.


Position 1: Mary Yu is the incumbent. She is running for re-election without opposition.


Position 3: Mary Fairhurst is the incumbent. She is running for re-election without opposition.


Position 4: Charles W. Johnson is the incumbent. He is being challenged by Eddie Yoon. This election will appear on the November general election ballot.


Position 7: Debra L. Stephens is the incumbent. She is being challenged by John (Zamboni) Scannell. This election will appear on the November general election ballot.


 

Court of Appeals

Division Three, District Two

(Adams, Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Walla Walla, and Whitman Counties)

District Two elects one judge; there will be no election on the 2014 ballot.


 

Superior Court

Superior Court judges are elected to four-year terms; they were elected in 2012, and their terms extend through the end of 2016.


 

District Court

District Court judges are elected to four-year terms, and all District Court positions are up for election in 2014.

There are no contested District Court elections in the county this year. The following incumbent candidates have filed for re-election:

Position 2: Janis Whitener-Moberg
