Statement: The King County Bar rates Rick Leo "Exceptionally Well Qualified," its highest rating and only one given in this race. Known for hard work, fairness, and commitment to justice, Rick is the only candidate earning three "Exceptionally Well Qualified" ratings: Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Bar and Cardozo Society (Jewish Federation). Latina/o Bar and Joint Asian Committee awarded Rick their highest rating in this race.
It’s been an honor for Rick to serve six years as your Part Time Judge in King and Snohomish District and Municipal Courts. This position uniquely covers both counties; Rick is the only candidate to regularly preside in both. This familiarity allows Rick to hit the ground running and serve our citizens from day one.
Because of his sixteen years of unmatched experience as a judge, prosecutor, public defender, and private practice attorney, Rick will make the court more efficient, responsive, and accessible.
Overwhelming majority of district and municipal judges who endorsed a candidate endorse Rick. 150+ prosecutors, defense, and civil attorneys, who have appeared before him, agree Rick is most qualified. Supreme Court Justice (ret) Faith Ireland, Secretary of State (fmr) Ralph Munro, Snohomish County Prosecutor Mark Roe, and King County Democrats highlight Rick’s endorsements.
