Richard LelandLegal/Judicial Experience: Judge Leland is currently a District Court Judge. He also has extensive experience as a Judge Pro-Tem in District Court (7+ years).

Other Professional Experience: Judge Leland was a lawyer in private practice in Spokane for over 20 years, representing people in matters from business law, to family law, to complex trials. He also possesses 10 years of complex commercial lending experience.

Education: Washington State University, BA, Economics; Gonzaga University School of Law, Juris Doctor (Cum Laude).

Community Service: United Way loaned executive; Sunday school teacher (8 years); Little League director; Youth coach for SYSA, YMCA, AAU (boys and girls teams).

Statement: Judge Leland stated, “I pledge in my courtroom you will be treated as I would want my family to be treated.” The Spokane County Bar in 2011 rated him “Exceptionally Well Qualified”. Judge Leland is the only candidate with judicial experience. He is driven to improve the criminal justice system and solicits your ideas. Judge Leland is a strong and proven leader focused on protecting our community. Past achievements include competing in the 1988 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and in Toastmasters International competitions. Judge Leland is overwhelmingly supported by judges, officials, and businesses. He will work hard- Guaranteed!
