Court of AppealsDivision Two, District Two(Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, and Thurston Counties)District Three elects two judges; Position 1 will be on the 2014 ballot. Superior CourtSuperior Court judges are elected to four-year terms. All Superior Court positions throughout Washington will be up for election in 2016. Bill Houser was appointed by the Governor to an open position on the Kitsap County Superior Court. He is not being challenged for that position. If only one candidate runs for an office in a county with a population of more than 100,000, that candidate receives a Certificate of Election, and the position will not appear on either the primary or the general election ballot. Judge Houser has accordingly been elected to complete the remainder of his term, and he will be up for election again in 2016. |

District CourtDistrict Court judges are elected to four-year terms, and all District Court positions are up for election in 2014. Three District Court positions are uncontested, and only the incumbents will appear on the November ballot. Because of Judge James Riehl's retirement, Position 1 is open. Two candidates are running for that position, and it will be decided in the November general election.
