Legal/Judicial Experience: Judge Lisa Worswick has over 17 years of judicial experience as a Court of Appeals Judge, (2010-present); Pierce County Superior Court Judge (2002-2010), and Municipal Judge and Pierce County District Court Commissioner (1997-2002). Judge Worswick was previously a prosecuting attorney and police legal advisor for several Pierce county towns and cities (1989-1997).

Other Professional Experience: Attorney, private practice; Dean, Washington Judicial College; Panelist and Speaker, various legal and judicial education programs.

Education: J.D. University of Washington

Community Service: Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Paint Tacoma Beautiful, YMCA Moot Court.

Statement: Judge Lisa Worswick has proudly served as your judge for over 17 years. She has the judicial and legal experience we need on the State Court of Appeals. Her fair and firm approach in the courtroom, knowledge of the law, dedication to public service and trusted judicial experience make her an exceptionally qualified judge.

Judge Worswick has proven her commitment to our community through her years of community service. All of her contributions are too numerous to mention here, but she has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity; she has painted houses for Paint Tacoma Beautiful; she has served on the Board of Directors for Comprehensive Mental Health; she has volunteered for cancer charities; she has judged the YMCA high school moot court competition; and she is a regular speaker for continuing legal education programs.

As Chief Judge she spearheaded efforts to reduce case backlog, and she is currently working to help make the court more efficient and user friendly through technology. She has earned the broad support of judges and lawyers across the state because of her integrity, leadership and initiative.
