Washington Court of Appeals

Court of Appeals judges serve six-year terms, with approximately one third of them elected each two years.

 


Division One

 

Division One, District One

(King County)

District One elects eight judges; Positions 1, 5, and 6 will be on the 2014 general election ballot in November.

Judge Michael Trickey was appointed to Position 1 by the Governor. He is running without opposition to complete his term. He will have to run again in 2016 for a full term.


Judge Linda Lau is the Position 5 incumbent. She is running for re-election without opposition.


Judge Ann Schindler is the Position 6 incumbent. She is running for re-election without opposition.


Division One, District Two

(Snohomish County)

District Two elects two judges; Position 2 will be on the 2014 ballot.

Judge J. Robert Leach is the Position 2 incumbent. He is running for re-election and will appear on the November general election ballot without opposition.


Division One, District Three

(Island, San Juan, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties)

District Three elects two judges; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2014.


 

Division Two

 

Division Two, District One

(Pierce County)

District One elects three judges; all three positions will be on the 2014 ballot.

Judge Brad Maxa was appointed to Position 1 by the Governor. He is running for re-election without opposition to the two years remaining on his term.


Judge Lisa Worswick is the Position 2 incumbent. She is running for re-election without opposition.


Judge Linda Lee was appointed by the Governor She is running for re-election without opposition to the four years remaining on her term.


Division Two, District Two

(Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, and Thurston Counties)

District Three elects two judges; Position 1 will be on the 2014 ballot.

Lisa Sutton is running for election to Position 1, an open position, this year. She will appear on the November ballot without opposition.


Division Two, District Three

(Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum Counties)

District Three elects two judges; Position 1 will be on the 2014 ballot.

Judge Rich Melnick was appointed to Position 1 by the Governor. He is running for re-election without opposition to the four years remaining on his term.


 

Division Three

 

Division Three, District One

(Ferry, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, and Stevens Counties)

District One elects two judges; Position 2 will be on the 2014 ballot.

Judge Kevin Korsmo is the Position 2 incumbent. He is running for re-election without opposition.


Division Three, District Two

(Adams, Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Walla Walla, and Whitman Counties)

District Two elects one judge; there will be no election on the 2014 ballot.


Division Three, District Three

(Chelan, Douglas, Kittitas, Klickitat, and Yakima Counties)

District Three elects two judges; both positions will be on the 2014 ballot.

Judge Stephen Brown is the Position 1 incumbent. He is running for re-election without opposition.

Judge Rob Lawrence-Berry was appointed to Position 2 by the Governor. He is running to complete the final four years of his term. His position will be up for election again in 2018.
