Legal/Judicial Experience: 13 Years Adams County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney; 11 years Othello City Attorney; 37 years private law practice based out of Othello, with extensive experience in criminal and civil matters including trial work and office practice.

Other Professional Experience: Washington State Bar Association; Washington State Association for Justice; Hearing Officer for school district teacher appeals in Benton and Yakima Counties.

Education: Ritzville High School 1966; BA History University of Washington 1970; JD Gonzaga University School of Law 1975.

Community Service: 35 year member and current Director Othello Rotary Club; former member Adams County Civil Service Commission. I provide legal services free of charge to several non-profit organizations.

Statement: I am a third-generation lawyer in Adams County who cares deeply about law and justice in our County. Superior Court is the primary trial court in Washington. A Superior Court Judge of necessity must have a wealth of legal experience. Diverse trial experience is essential to enable the judge to perform the chief role in the courtroom. I have years of actual experience preparing and trying cases, both criminal and civil. I have successfully argued cases before the Washington State Supreme Court, Washington State Court of Appeals and the Federal Court for the Eastern District of Washington. I have represented clients in litigation in the Superior Court in 10 counties in the State of Washington, Federal Court and the National Appeals Division. I also have broad experience in an office practice that has covered nearly all phases of the practice of law. I have received the highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards from Martindale - Hubbell, based upon a survey of attorneys and judges. I would be honored to serve the people of Adams County as your Superior Court Judge.
