Legal/Judicial Experience: Current City Attorney for the City of East Wenatchee. 17 years experience representing diverse clients, including 29 cases in the appellate courts in Washington. Admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Education: BA Political Science, University of Washington, 1991; JD, with honors, Seattle University School of Law, 1994. Community Service: Eagle Scout, Cubmaster, Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity volunteer, Chelan-Douglas Land Trust trail builder, and Wenatchee Valley Symphony pro bono attorney. Statement: Devin began his legal career working for small law firm in East Wenatchee. Mostly, he helped clients with employment law problems and those who had experienced a violation of their civil rights. When his own son needed Special Education, Devin expanded his practice to help parents and students with Special Education needs. In 2006, he became the City Attorney for East Wenatchee. He splits his time between prosecuting criminal cases and drafting contracts, ordinances, and land use agreements for the City. Since Devin has been prosecutor, the number of criminal cases in East Wenatchee has increased from 425 in 2005 to 721 in 2011. With his experience in employment law, civil rights law, land use law, and criminal law, Devin is well-versed in the types of cases that routinely come before the Court of Appeals. Devin is married to Rebekah Poulson (concertmaster of the Wenatchee Valley Symphony), is the father of five children, and is active in his church and community. Devin will bring the perspectives of people from all walks of life to the Court. Devin has the integrity and impartiality we need on our Court of Appeals. |
