Legal/Judicial Experience: State Court of Appeals Judge, Appointed 2010, Elected 2010, presently Acting Chief Judge, Division Three; Principal, Randall | Danskin; Senior Litigation Attorney, Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc.; Arbitrator, Spokane County Superior Court; Mediation Panel Appointee, U.S. District Court, E.D.Wa.

Other Professional Experience: Attorney; Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy, Gonzaga University College of Law.

Education: LL.M. (Master of Laws), New York University, 1985; J.D., University of Utah, 1979; B.S., University of Utah, 1975.

Community Service: Member, Public Trust and Confidence Committtee, Washington Courts; Founding member and officer, Rockwood Neighborhood Association; former pro bono representative of Friends of the Falls (Lincoln Street Bridge litigation); former board member, Civic League

Statement: Independent and objective, experienced and fair, Judge Laurel Siddoway enjoyed the support of Republicans and Democrats in her election to the bench, for her common sense, her grasp of complex legal issues and her commitment to equal treatment and respect for our constitution. After only two years on the court, her colleagues unanimously elected this practical and hardworking judge as the division’s Acting Chief Judge. She has consistently been rated well qualified and most often “exceptionally well qualified” by judicial rating associations.

Before joining the bench, Laurel Siddoway practiced law for over two decades, representing small businesses, individuals and families - taking on powerful institutions on behalf of those who deserve a voice. Her balance and independence earned her the support of three City of Spokane administrations, who relied on her to extricate taxpayers from costly and controversial support for a downtown garage project. A wife and mother of three sons - all graduates of Spokane Schools - Siddoway understands that our courts need judges with an understanding of the experiences of real people and a commitment to make sure everyone receives equal treatment and respect.
