Legal/Judicial Experience: Marie is a supervising attorney in the Washington Attorney General's Office with 26 years of trial and appellate experience. She has represented clients in federal and state courts covering a broad range of legal issues involving constitutional, civil rights, and other complex matters. Marie previously prosecuted felony crimes, including murder, drug manufacturing, sexual and domestic violence cases, and crimes against children.

Community Service: Fundraising volunteer, youth programs; community kitchen volunteer; Board President of a charity assisting seniors and the disabled to live independently.

Statement: To serve effectively, a judge must be guided by the law, the facts and sound reason in making decisions that affect lives and the community. Every case should be treated as the most important case. Superior Court judges have great influence on people's lives and the quality of life in Thurston County. Because of this influence, I believe a judge should live in the county they serve. I will uphold these principles, and the values esssential to justice: fairness, impartiality, and respect for the equality and dignity of all persons.
