Legal/Judicial Experience: Superior Court Judge for 9 years; Presiding Judge, Juvenile Court (2010-2011); Committees: Criminal Rules & Procedures; Drug & Veteran's Court; Equality & Fairness & Racial Disproportionality.

Other Professional Experience: Federal law clerk; Awarded Best Lawyer in America (employment law); 25 years private practice in complex litigation in California and Washington; Lecturer; Pioneer Woman of the Year awards 2004 & 2011.

Education: Stadium HS (1969), University of Washington, B.A. (1973); J.D. (1976); Candidate, Master's in Judicial Studies at the National Judicial College, University of Nevada.

Community Service: Mentoring, Paint Tacoma, Safe Streets, American Red Cross, and Hilltop Artists, Lenny Wilkens Foundation, Optimist Club.

Statement: Judge Grant believes in the equality and fairness of the judicial system and the need to provide court services particularly to our veterans, families, developmentally disabled, mentally ill persons and those addicted to drugs. Such intervention will decrease crime and create safer communities. She believes that accessible and fair courts yield a stronger and dependable democracy. Judge Grant delivers consistent, fair and just decisions in accordance with the law.

Judge Grant continues to stay well informed on the latest developments in the law. Her participation as an Advance Science Technology Research Fellow teaches principles regarding bionics, genetics, FMRI (Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging), virtual reality and other issues as they relate to the law. She also is a certified mediator. Judge Grant has only her thesis to complete before receiving her Masters in Judicial Studies.
For over 30 years, Judge Grant continues to mentor youth. She participates in classroom discussions and in the annual Youth and Law Forum in an effort to introduce youth to the judicial system. She has heard hundreds of cases.

Judge Grant appreciates the jurors who graciously and frequently perform their civic responsibilities often at a personal financial sacrifice. She thanks you for your continuous support.
