Legal/Judicial Experience: Thirty years legal experience representing people and businesses as a civil and criminal trial attorney and general counsel; CEO, Silver Planet, helping seniors manage their healthcare; Law School Instructor, UW. Judge Pro Tem, Kitsap County. Superior & District Court Pro Tem experience.

Other Professional Experience: Boards: Washington Women Lawyers , Washington Association of Corporate Counsel, Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Washington Judicial Council.

Education: Boston University School of Law, J.D., 1982; University of Michigan, B.A. English, 1979

Community Service: Kitsap YWCA Board; Kitsap Community Health Priorities; Health Housing & Human Services Council, and Suquamish Elementary “Rolling Readers.” Mentorships: Youth, students, attorneys and small business owners.

Statement: Our State Constitution requires judges be elected to enable the people the power to select those who understand the hardships of unemployment, health challenges, divorce, substance abuse, as well as issues with children, the elderly and returning veterans.

Karen Klein will apply the wisdom of her 30 years as a trial lawyer and community activist to the Kitsap County Superior Court. She is experienced, committed and believes in fairness and compassionate accountability while judging independently of special interests or political influence. Though our courts are often overloaded, her energy and work ethic will always prevail. She is open-minded, unbiased, fair and decisive.

As a legal lecturer and dedicated to justice, Karen knows the law and has the confidence of peers and the public. She has demonstrated, as a frequent pro tem judge, the integrity, character, temperament, ability and credentials required to make decisions to serve our diverse population.
