Legal/Judicial Experience: Trial attorney with Kitsap County Public Defender Division. 28 years experience with over 200 trials in criminal, civil and family cases. Appointed and served six years as a substitute judge in the highest level state trial court, four years as part-time juvenile court referee. Other Professional Experience: Uniform Criminal Jury Instructions Committee, Washington State Bar Civil Rights Committee, professional legislative committees; conference speaker; elected to Bar House of Delegates, county Bar president. Education: Willamette University, B.S (1980) and J.D (1983). Community Service: Volunteered on youth camp, hospital, church and community foundation boards; participated in service clubs; mentored high school mock trial students and coached youth sports.
