Legal/Judicial Experience: Trial attorney with Kitsap County Public Defender Division. 28 years experience with over 200 trials in criminal, civil and family cases. Appointed and served six years as a substitute judge in the highest level state trial court, four years as part-time juvenile court referee.

Other Professional Experience: Uniform Criminal Jury Instructions Committee, Washington State Bar Civil Rights Committee, professional legislative committees; conference speaker; elected to Bar House of Delegates, county Bar president.

Education: Willamette University, B.S (1980) and J.D (1983).

Community Service: Volunteered on youth camp, hospital, church and community foundation boards; participated in service clubs; mentored high school mock trial students and coached youth sports.

Statement: As a trial attorney, Bill Houser works daily in the Kitsap County Superior Court. Chad Enright, Kitsap County Deputy Prosecutor Guild President wrote: "No one is in a better position to judge Bill's integrity and commitment to the law than those who face him in court every day. Our Guild members are in that position and we endorse Bill Houser for election to our Superior Court." Bill is endorsed by judges, attorneys, law enforcement, community leaders and residents throughout Kitsap County.

As a part-time judge, Bill presided over civil, criminal and divorce cases; probate and mental commitment hearings. As a juvenile referee, he helped establish innovative programs to manage caseloads and provide education and treatment for juvenile offenders. As your judge, Bill will be committed to finding cutting edge approaches to resolving cases, reduce repeat offenders and lower costs. "I will follow the law, work hard, apply common sense, administer justice fairly and treat everyone with dignity and respect" Bill Houser.

Bill is married to Kitsap County native Brenda Sutton Houser, a registered nurse. He is dad to Sarah and Curtis and enjoys helping with Cub Scouts and sports teams.
