Superior CourtSuperior Court judges are elected to four-year terms. Most Superior Court positions throughout Washington are up for election in 2012. If only one candidate runs for a Superior Court position in a county with a population of more than 100,000, that candidate receives a Certificate of Election, and the position will not appear on either the primary or the general election ballot. If there are two or more candidates for a position, the office will appear on the August 7 primary ballot. Marilyn Haan is the incumbent judge in Dep't 4. She is being challenged by Joseph Daggy. This race will be decided in the primary election! The incumbents for each of the following Superior Court positions are running for re-election without opposition:
District CourtDistrict Court judges are elected to four-year terms; most were elected in 2010, and their terms extend through the end of 2014. Vacant positions may appear on the 2012 ballot in some counties. |
