Statement: Mike Lynch has practiced law for 31 years. He has acquired expertise in criminal law, working in the criminal justice system developing criminal rules and successfully defending cases that challenged convictions for a variety of crimes. Mike also has extensive experience with civil law, defending a broad range of civil damages lawsuits. Currently, Mike’s the lead attorney for the appellate section of the Torts Division of the Attorney General’s Office. Mike has handled hundreds of cases, in the Washington State Court of Appeals, the Washington State Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court. In addition to a strong background in both criminal and civil law, Mike’s knowledge of state government is comprehensive. This knowledge is important because the judge you choose for this position must determine whether state government is operating in accordance with Washington’s laws and constitution. Mike knows how government should work and has seen the consequences when it doesn’t. Mike dedicated his career to serving the public interest and the pursuit of justice. He treats people with respect. As an appellate judge, Mike will work hard to administer the law in a clear and fair manner.
