Superior CourtSuperior Court judges are elected to four-year terms. Most Superior Court positions throughout Washington are up for election in 2012. If only one candidate runs for a Superior Court position in a county with a population of more than 100,000, that candidate receives a Certificate of Election, and the position will not appear on either the primary or the general election ballot. If there are two or more candidates for a position, the office will appear on the August 7 primary ballot. Department 11 is an open position. Two candidates are running. This race will be decided in the primary election. No candidates filed against the following incumbents, and under Washington law, they are therefore entitled to Certificates of Election. These positions will not appear on the primary or general election ballot.
