Court of Appeals judges serve six-year terms, with approximately one third of them elected each two years.

(King County)

District One elects seven judges. Positions 4 and 7 will be on the 2012 primary ballot. The incumbents are Ronald Cox (Pos 4) and Marlin Appelwick (Pos 7). They are each running unopposed.

Division One, District Two

(Snohomish County)

District Two elects two judges; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2012.


Division One, District Three

(Island, San Juan, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties)

District Three elects one judge. That position will be on the 2012 primary ballot. The incumbent is Mary Kay Becker. She is running unopposed.

(Pierce County)

District Three elects three judges. Position 3 will be on the 2012 primary ballot. The incumbent is Christine Quinn-Brintnall. She is running unopposed.

(Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, and Thurston Counties)

District Two elects two judges. Position 2 will be on the 2012 primary ballot. David Armstrong is the incumbent; he is not running for re-election. Thomas Bjorgen, Jim Foley, Pam Loginsky, Michael Lynch, Tom Weaver, and Brendan Wiliams are running for the position.

Division Two, District Three

(Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum Counties)

District Three elects two judges. Position 1 will be on the 2012 primary ballot. Joel Penoyar is the incumbent. He is running unopposed.

(Ferry, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, and Stevens Counties)

District One elects two judges. Position 1 will be on the 2012 primary ballot. The incumbent is Laurel Siddoway. She is running unopposed.


Division Three, District Two

(Adams, Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Walla Walla, and Whitman Counties)

District Two elects one judge; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2012.


Division Three, District Three

(Chelan, Douglas, Kittitas, Klickitat, and Yakima Counties)

District Three elects two judges. Position 2 will be on the 2012 primary ballot. Teresa Kulik is the incumbent; she is being challenged by Devin Poulson. This race will be decided in the primary election.
