There are two judges on the Federal Way Municipal Court. Both positions are up for election in 2009.

Position One
Williams Jarvis, Mark Knapp, Rebecca Robertson, James Santucci, and Matthew York are challenging the incumbent, Michael Morgan.
This race will appear on the primary ballot. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes cast, there will be a runoff between the top two candidates in the November general election.

Renee Walls is challenging the incumbent, David Larson.
This race will not appear on the primary ballot. It will be decided in the November general election.
