Yakima County Superior CourtPosition FiveThis race will be decided in the Primary Election.
Current Occupation/Employer: Lawyer with Finney, Falk, Lawrence-Berrey & Naught, PLLP. Education: Willamette University College of Law (J.D.); Whitman College (B.A.). Legal/Judicial Experience: Over 18 years representing Yakima County people and businesses. Very broad civil law experience. Criminal law experience as former Selah prosecutor. Occasional judge, pro-tem. Family: Married to Kristi, three children – Jessi, Erik, Nikki. Because people ask: I was born with my hyphenated name. I did not hyphenate it due to marriage. Significant Career Experience: Leadership in several groups dedicated to improving our community and legal system. Candidate Statement: Judges must decide a wide variety of cases. Broad experience is required. I have represented Yakima County people and businesses in over 25 areas of law. A judge also must be fair. I am supported by both plaintiff and defense lawyers. Yakima County needs a judicial system that is efficient and affordable. I work on a committee with judges and lawyers whose purpose it is to improve our legal system. We have generated good ideas and made recent changes to our system. We need to continue to generate good ideas. If, as a private citizen, I have worked to improve our system, then you can be confident that I will continue these efforts if elected. The best judges are those who work hard, are prepared for hearings and trials, and treat people with fairness and respect. Although you may not know me, you may know several people who list themselves as my supporters on my campaign website. (www.RobforYakimajudge.com) Most of them know me personally. I encourage you to confirm with them that I am a person who works hard, is prepared, and treats people with fairness and respect. Thank-you for voting. |
