Candidate Statement: I’ve been honored to serve as one of your Spokane County Superior Court Judges since 1997. This position requires an abiding respect for the rule of law and those who come before our courts. My current work as Adult Felony Drug Court Judge involves tough expectations, but often the return of drug-addicted felons to the health and safety of their families, jobs and education, and away from the revolving door of crime. My legal practice spanned diverse areas of the law: representing employers and employees, plaintiff and defense personal injury litigation, education, collective bargaining, municipal and family law. I had the privilege of representing one of our largest and most successful civic districts and did pro bono work for parents defending state agency overpayment claims. As a judge, I’ve held leadership positions making sure courts are accessible physically and technically to all our citizens, promoting fair legal employment opportunities, ensuring civil rules are consistent with the law, and helping keep the justice system fair in the areas of domestic violence and substance abuse crimes. I was raised to value public service and that remains my personal commitment. Please visit www.judgelindatompkins.com. Thank you for your vote. |
