Current Occupation/Employer: Prosecuting Attorney, Lincoln County, 1989 to present. Education: Graduate of Gonzaga Law School, BA in Political Science from Whitman College Legal/Judicial Experience: Admitted to Washington State Bar Association in 1977. Family: Married to Vicki Shepherd for 28 years. They have one son, James. Significant Career Experience: An experienced prosecutor, personally prosecuting hundreds of adult felonies, in addition to extensive juvenile and district court experience. Served as a member of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission from 1994 - 2000 and was the first prosecutor elected chair. Has served as president of the Washington Association of Prosecuting Attorneys. Has privately represented clients in numerous civil matters. Candidate Statement: It has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Lincoln County for the past 30 years as a deputy prosecutor and elected prosecuting attorney. During this period of time I have personally handled hundreds of felonies ranging from theft to homicide. Additionally, I have advised County officials and represented the County on civil matters. I also practiced law privately for several years, representing clients involved in a broad range of legal matters including domestic relations, contract, consumer product, and real property disputes. At this time I would be honored to serve the citizens of Lincoln County and the State of Washington as a Superior Court Judge. I pledge to be impartial, fair, competent, and thorough, and to perform my duties with integrity. |
