Clark County Superior CourtPosition FiveThis race will be decided in the Primary Election.
Current Occupation/Employer: Law Offices of David Evans-Vancouver, Washington Education: Graduate of University of Dayton School of Law, 1993; BA in Political Science from University of California at Davis, 1989. Legal/Judicial Experience: Admitted to WA Bar Association in 1994. US District Ct-Western District of Washington 1997; Panel Arbitrator for The National Association Securities Dealers (NASD) since 1998. Significant Career Experience: In general private practice as a solo practitioner for approximately 14 years representing clients in various legal areas, including estate planning, probate, corporate law, real estate and bankruptcy. Candidate Statement: It is Time for a Change! As a Clark County attorney in private practice for nearly 14 years, I believe in the structure of our judicial system and that democracy is something to be honored. While I admire and respect my opponent’s service to Clark County for 29 years, he will reach the mandatory retirement age for all Washington State Superior Court Judges in October, 2009. If he were to be re-elected, my opponent will not complete his four year term and his seat would be filled by the governor through appointment. In August’s primary election, however, you, the voters of Clark County, have the unique opportunity to let your vote actually count. I will serve with integrity, impartiality, and wisdom. I have the legal experience and the temperament to apply the law judiciously and fairly for everyone, for the full four year term. Voting for me means YOU get to decide who serves in Clark County Superior Court. Let our democracy system function as it should: by voting, not appointing. Let your vote count! David Evans for Clark County Superior Court Judge, Position 5. |
