Current Occupation/Employer: Lawyer, Law Offices of Jim Johanson, PLLC, in Edmonds.

Education: 1982-University of Washington, B.A. English Literature; 1987-University of Puget Sound School of Law, J.D.

Legal/Judicial Experience: Prosecutor for Pierce/King Counties and Lynnwood who opened his own practice in Snohomish County in 1995. He’s represented the interests of his clients, in civil and criminal law, for over twenty years.

Family: Son, Michael, an O’Dea High School Graduate and junior at Arizona State University.

Significant Career Experience: In 1990, Jim became Legislative Director for Community Transit. Jim served as Washington State Representative for the 44th Legislative District (1992-1994) and was House Judiciary Committee Vice Chair.

Candidate Statement: Jim has spent over two decades in both civil and criminal law representing his clients before courts and juries all over Washington State.

His career began as a Deputy Prosecutor for Pierce and King Counties. He then became an Assistant City Attorney for Lynnwood. In 1992, Jim was elected to serve as our voice in the State House of Representatives and was Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee. Over the past twenty years, Jim has become an experienced trial lawyer. His practice has included personal injury, family law, real estate, contracts, trusts and probate matters.

Jim grew up in Snohomish County and has continued to be involved in community activities, from coaching his son’s Little League team, to serving as a Lector for Holy Rosary Parish and as a member of the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce.

As a prosecutor, Jim has enforced the laws of Washington. As a State Legislator, Jim has written the laws we all live by and as a trial lawyer has fought for the rights of victims.

Jim Johanson is an experienced, hard working and well-qualified attorney who will make an excellent addition to the Superior Court Bench and will serve with integrity.
