Toni Sheldon

Current Occupation/Employer: Mason County Superior Court Judge.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, University of Pennsylvania in 1975; law degree, University of Puget Sound in 1978. Washington State Judicial Colleges for Superior Court and for District and Municipal Court; National Judicial College.

Legal/Judicial Experience: Sixteen years judicial experience, Superior Court Judge (1992 to present); Shelton Municipal Court Judge (1992); Twelve years in the practice of law in Shelton.

Family: Resides in Potlatch and is part of the third generation of her family to live and work in Mason County. Judge Sheldon and her husband, Jeff Green, are raising twin sons.

Significant Career Experience: Sixteen years trial court experience and court management.

Candidate Statement: It is a great privilege to have served Mason County citizens as one of your two Superior Court Judges for the past 16 years.

My sixteen years judicial service have provided me with the knowledge and experience needed to decide the wide variety of civil, criminal, domestic, probate and juvenile court matters litigated daily in our Superior Court. I have been a lawyer in Shelton for 27 years, including 16 years on the Superior Court bench, presiding over thousands of cases including more than 200 jury trials. I was first elected to the Mason County Superior Court in November 1992 and re-elected in 1996, 2000, and 2004. I currently serve as Presiding Judge and also as our Drug Court Judge.

As part of the third generation of my family to live and work in Mason County and as a parent raising twin boys, I care deeply about the quality of life in Mason County, its citizens, businesses and government. I work daily to make a difference in the lives of Mason County citizens. Doing this job in a constructive, positive and meaningful way is essential to building the kind of safe community in which we all want to live.
