Education: Washington Judicial College. Willamette Law School. B.A. in Business Administration, University of Washington.

Legal/Judicial Experience: Admitted to Washington Bar in 1972. San Juan County District Court Judge for 21 years. Admitted to Oregon Bar 2002. Superior Court Commissioner and Judge Pro Tem. Appointed San Juan County Superior Court Judge by Governor Gregoire 1/1/08. 35 years general practice. Extensive civil and criminal trial experience.

Family: Married 36 years to Carol Linde, adult children Brian and Kristen

Significant Career Experience: Elected District Court Judge 5 times. Appointed Superior Court Judge 1/1/08.

Candidate Statement: I was appointed by Governor Gregoire as our County’s first Superior Court Judge on January 1, 2008, and made a commitment to serve the community I love in that capacity.

In 1972 I began private practice in San Juan County and subsequently served as District Court Judge for 21 years (elected 5 times). I have extensive trial experience as an attorney, and as a judge I have presided over approximately 100 jury trials.

I am honored to be endorsed by Judges Hancock and Churchill who have so admirably served our County, and have the support of trial and appellate court judges throughout the state.

I am rated Exceptionally Well Qualified by Washington Women Lawyers, Tacoma Pierce County Minority Bar, and the Asian, Korean American, South Asian and Vietnamese Bar Associations; and Well Qualified by Latina/o Bar, QLAW, and Loren Miller Bar.

I care deeply about young people in our community and can make a difference in their lives working with Juvenile Court Services and as Judge in Juvenile Court.

My qualifications are unique and unparalleled. I have the legal and judicial experience, and the commitment required to continue as your Superior Court Judge.
