LEGAL/JUDICIAL EXPERIENCE: John Groen is highly qualified with eighteen years experience before the Washington Supreme Court, advocating for property rights and civil liberties of ordinary citizens. He brings an extensive background in public interest law and a national reputation defending constitutionally protected rights in private property. As chair of national conferences sponsored by the American Bar Association, John is recognized as a leading authority on constitutional rights.
OPTIONAL INFORMATION: The son of a Dutch immigrant, John's family eventually made their home in Kennewick. As a laborer, John worked his way through college and law school. Married 22 years, John has three sons.

Candidate Statement: "Justice for all" exists only when courts honor the Constitution and rule of law. But in recent decisions our Court has altered laws, overstepping its authority. Moreover, John's opponent cannot complete the term of office due to mandatory retirement. John's supporters are not the bygone political establishment, but are prosecutors, farmers, small business and homeowners who recognize that all Washingtonians--regardless of political preference--deserve a court that stays within its proper role.
