LEGAL/JUDICIAL EXPERIENCE: A lawyer for 12 years, Tam has criminal and civil experience. Her experience as a trial lawyer includes representing low income clients, families, and businesses. As an appellate lawyer, she argued cases in the Court of Appeals that resulted in published opinions by the Court. Tam's judicial experience includes presiding over high caseloads of criminal matters, small claims, mental health, family law, domestic violence, consumer protection, child care, and contractor licensing.

Having a diverse background, Tam understands that her decisions affect the lives of real people. She has judged fairly, thoughtfully, and with common sense as a Pro Tem Judge in Everett District Court and a State Administrative Law Judge. She is compassionate when warranted and firm when necessary. Tam and her husband have two sons. She volunteers at their schools and mentors high school students. Tam has broad support from judges, attorneys, community leaders, law enforcement, teachers, firefighters, and more.
