Pierce County District Court
Legal/Judicial Experience: Karl has served as
Pierce County District Court Judge Pro Tem for 22 years. He also serves
as Judge Pro Tem for Fife, Puyallup and Ruston. He has practiced law for
30 years with trial experience in both criminal and civil cases.
Other Professional Experience: Managing Partner; Griffin &
Williams. Arbitrator; Pierce and King County Superior Court.
Education: B.A., Political Science, University of Washington;
J.D., University of Puget Sound School of Law.
Community Service: Karl serves as Youth Protection Officer for
Rotary District 5020. He Chairs the District Court Liaison Committee and
volunteers for the Bar Association Free Legal Clinics.
Statement: Fair minded and even-tempered Karl is already working
for us as Judge Pro Tem in Pierce County District Court. He has a proven
record of public safety, community service and protecting the rights of

Karlís service as an arbitrator, mediator and his private practice gives
him the necessary experience to handle all of Pierce County District
Courtís criminal and civil cases. Whether it be a DUI, traffic
infraction, small claims, contract dispute, or personal injury case,
Karl has the experience to make the right decision.
Karl understands the impact that mental health, addiction and economic
disparity have on the court system and he has an unwavering commitment
to access to justice. Karl has been endorsed by members of both

and attorneys. Karl and his wife Dannah raised their two children and
