2016-2018 Vice Chair Supreme Courtís Gender & Justice Commission; 2017-18 Co-Chair HB1163 Legislative Work Group (Domestic Violence); 2008-2018 Member State Pattern Jury Instructions Committee; 2010 District Court Judge of the Year. Past President District & Municipal Court Judges Assoc.

Founding Member Kitsap Family Law Bar, Kitsap Dispute Resolution Center, Kitsap Legal Services. 2010 Kitsap YWCA Woman of Achievement.

Statement: Judge Paja is honored to have served the citizens of Kitsap County as Judge in District Court for twenty years and thanks the voters for their trust. She is proud to serve with experienced colleagues (Judges Jahns, Bradley and Kelly) who

together form a great team for innovation and local court improvement. She gives the highest priority to fairness in the judicial process and recognizes the impact of her judgment on the individuals involved. She has been deeply involved in improvement of the court system state-wide, recently educating judges about implicit racial bias in jury selection.

She continues in a tradition of public service in the community as Past President and 20-year member of Port Orchard Kiwanis (long-serving chair of the Kiwanis Bike Rodeo and Instructor at Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp); Chair of Citizens Committee for Career Tech Ed at South Kitsap HS; and past Officer of YWCA of Kitsap County. Residing in Kitsap County since 1980, she and her husband Alan have been active in their community raising three children, now adults, who proudly attended South Kitsap public schools.
