Candidate Statement:Born
in Virginia, Bryan grew up as a military brat in Connecticut, South
Carolina, Guam and Florida. After graduating from West Orange High
School in Winter Garden, FL in 1980 Bryan attended the University of
Florida on a Naval ROTC Scholarship.
After two years at Florida he joined the Air Force as an Airborne
Spanish Cryptologic Linguist. During his ten year enlistment Bryan
graduated from Angelo State University with a degree in English. Upon
separation from the Air Force in 1992, he and his wife Lauri moved to
Spokane to attend law school at Gonzaga.
Bryan was initially in private practice, and then worked for both the
City of Spokane and Spokane County as a public defender. In January 2005
he reentered private practice. His practice continues to focus on
criminal law, but also includes a variety of civil cases. Bryan and
Lauri have been married for 25 years and have a seven year old son named
Alex. He is a member of Rotary and the American Legion and has served on
several non-profit boards here in Spokane. Bryan was also recently named
the 2008 Spokane County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyer Program
Attorney of the Year.
