Current Occupation/Employer: Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Snohomish County.

Education: J.D., University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law, 1992; B.A. in History, Franklin and Marshall College, 1988.

Legal/Judicial Experience: Admitted to CA Bar 1992, WA Bar Association 1993. District Court Supervisor. Judge pro tem, Snohomish County District Court.

Family: Married 14 years to Dr. Hoa Bui Appel; sons Billy and Tommy, ages 13 and 10.

Significant Career Experience: Serving Snohomish County citizens for over 15 years as deputy prosecutor.

Candidate Statement: THE MOST COURTROOM EXPERIENCE. Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney George Appel has spent 15 years providing victims a voice in the courtroom. No other candidate can match George’s trial experience: more than 100 cases to jury, more to the bench, many involving our community’s most serious offenders. Recognized by many in law enforcement as a tireless advocate for our most vulnerable citizens, George dedicated his career to making our community a safer place to live.

REAL JUDICIAL EXPERIENCE. As district court judge pro tem, George demonstrates compassion for the rights of all parties and a commitment to applying the law firmly and fairly, with common sense and an abiding respect for all who appear before him. George possesses the integrity, temperament, and determined work ethic that citizens deserve and expect from their judges.
